Following the team’s Saturday afternoon 9-0 loss against Liverpool, Bournemouth has fired Scott Parker.
Following a stint as Fulham manager, Parker took over the Cherries in the summer of last year. He led the team to automatic promotion to the Premier League as they finished just two points behind his prolific former team.
Despite defeating Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa on the first day, his team has since lost three straight games to Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
The statement, which quoted club owner, Maxim Demin, reads in part, “AFC Bournemouth can announce that the club has parted company with head coach Scott Parker.
“Gary O’Neil will take interim charge of the team and will be assisted by Shaun Cooper and Tommy Elphick.”
