Nigerian music icon, Falz reveals his interest to fight for a northern singer who was sentenced to 2 years in jail for dissing Kano State Governor in his song.
Recently it was brought to notice by BBC News that a northern singer by name Mohammed Yusuf was sentenced to 2 years in jail after he dissed the Kano State Governor in his song which went viral.
Following that, “Soft Work” crooner, Falz is out to see that justice must be done as far as the issue is concerned. He requested for anybody who can help him reach out to Yusuf so they can fight this together.
He wrote..
“HATE to see stuff like this! This is 2019. Any individual who feels defamed by any statement made by another person can sue for libel or slander under the law of defamation. It is shameful to see public officers using the machinery of the state to harass citizens and attempting to hinder our inalienable freedom of expression.
Anyone who knows the musician Mohammed Yusuf personally should please get in touch with me. We NEED to contend this unjust sentence. #JusticeForMohammed”
Remember Falz also suffered such in 2018 by getting his song banned after he dropped ” This Is Nigeria”.
